United Nations Foundation was selected to host the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data that was recently launched

The Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (the Global Partnership) was launched on the 28th November 2015. The overall objective of the initiative is to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by the promotion of open data. In particular, the Global Partnership aims to combat extreme poverty, climate change and human deseases with an enhanced accessibility of data. Among the initiative's partners are over 70 governments, civil society groups, international orgnizations and expert networks from all over the world.

On Friday, the 6th of November 2015 the Global Partnership announced the selection of the United Nations Foundation (UN Foundation) as its host organization for the next three years. The UN Foundation creates public-private partnerships to confront global issues like climate change, health and security. It links UN's work with other actor's from private sector and non-governmental organizations.
