The FAO geopolitical ontology that facilitates data exchange and sharing in a standardized manner among systems managing information about countries and/or regions is listed among the US Government Ontologies in the Ontologies for e-government project.
The version 1.1 of the geopolitical ontology includes a structured description of FAO, UN and internationally recognized data sources.
It consists of source name, source identifier, source creator, source modified date. In addition, the new version also defines concepts using Dublin Core vocabulary (http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/description).
