AGRIS Search 1.3.5 – What’s new

A new release of the AGRIS Search application is now published at http://agris.fao.org

This is mainly a bugfix release, but it also includes important features:

  1. The Search Assistant is improved and has a dedicated page, and includes a new filter that selects only records with full-text documents. Online tips also help users to refine the search query
  2. The Search Categories page allows you to browse data using the AGRIS Subject Categories (ASC). Once selected the desired category, you can extend your search adding more filters in the Search Assistant page
  3. The fields that can be used to query AGRIS have been expanded and it is now possible to search by ISBN, ISSN, keywords, Subject Categories, authors, journal titles and publishers

Note that with the AGRIS search application it is always possible to obtain a URL for a desired result set. In the top right of the main page the section “URL for these results” allows you to save and eventually forward the whole AGRIS result set by simply copying and pasting the same URL. In a few words, if, for example, you type “rice” in the text box, the relevant URL would simply be: http://agris.fao.org?query=rice

The AGRIS map, accessible from the "About AGRIS" button on the left menu also allows you to view details of the AGRIS data partners, with a direct link to all the bibliographic resources catalogued by the relevant institutions.
