FAO and ICRISAT organized jointly a 3-day workshop on "AGROVOC management and applications, using VocBench" for AGROVOC managers and editors from the South and Southeast Asian region. The workshop will take place from 12-14 October 2011 at ICRISAT in Hyderabad, India.

Themes

The workshop will focus on:

• thesauri and concepts schemes (AGROVOC and others) in different formats;
• AGROVOC as linked open data (LOD), and its alignment to other thesauri;
• applications of AGROVOC such as Agrotagger, AGRIS, etc.;
• VocBench: a web-based tool to manage AGROVOC and other multilingual knowledge organization systems (KOS);
• training sessions on using VocBench, incl. hands-on training.
