eForum Webinar: The Lyon Declaration and the Critical Role of Libraries in National Development Programs

This webinar will focus on the efforts made by librarians in Namibia in lobbying the policy makers; to understand the critical role that libraries play in national development programs; to include libraries in high level national policy statements; and in providing resources needed for libraries to play their critical role as a cross-cutting issue in all sectors of socio-economic development of the country.
It will conclude with importance and timeliness of the Lyon Declaration and its tool kit in helping librarians in Namibia to further their lobbying effort with their commissioners and state-part delegates to the UN for inclusion of access to information through libraries in both the African Agenda 2063 as well as the UN SDGs, as indispensable success factor.
