Adeline Rwashana Muuheebwa is an International Gender and Development Consultant in the areas of Agriculture, Extension Services, Nutrition, Gender, Land Management, Environment and Agribusiness. She is innovative, results oriented and a strategic practitioner with a strength in institutional development. Adeline is a bronze medal winner for the First ever “Create and Cook with Tooke Flour” competition and her passion is to inspire individuals especially women and youths to discover their purpose, restore their dignity and creatively use their potential for a fulfilling livelihood. Adeline has worked in different capacities as a development practitioner and consultant with USAID, IFAD, Chemonics Inc, ILO, Winrock and UN Women. She has also worked with a regional organization - ASARECA serving eleven member countries in the Eastern and Central Africa (ECA) and is the current Chairperson of a professional NGO – Association of Uganda Professional Women in Agriculture and Environment (AUPWAE) providing visionary leadership for long lasting and sustainable transformation.
Adeline is a trainer and mentor with GREAT (Gender Responsive Researchers Equipped for Agricultural Transformation) project funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation implemented by Makerere University and Cornell University and a trainer with a regional institution the African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD). Adeline has also provided facilitation services and report writing services with UFAAS (Uganda Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services) and Integrating Gender and Nutrition within Agricultural Extension Services (INGENAES). Adeline is an author and co-authored with KIT Publishers on Working with smallholders in Africa, Oxford University Press on Environment, Development and Sustainability and with ASARECA. Adeline is a facilitator in workshops, high level meetings and capturing proceedings for publications, reports and designing of different knowledge products. Adeline received recognition from Winrock International for her contribution to improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers especially the women.
