Main navigation menu - A proposal
Dear all,
As we announced last week, the next step is to bring into the discussion the AIMS main navigation menu.
You will find the proposed menu down below, which is slightly different to what was available in the last mock-up. It includes three levels:
- the first and the second level to be displayed on the left (due to FAO web guidelines we can only have two, not expandable levels in the menu on the left )
- the third level to be displayed horizontally on the homepage of the resource. Only some resources have a third level, like AGROVOC, AgriDrupal, etc...
For each element we have provided the URL of the existing page and added comments about the content that will be displayed. We hope that this will make the proposal more understandable.
With regard to the footer, our proposal is to use it for displaying information about communities, we will provide an example tomorrow when sending the final AIMS homepage mock-up.

A new page with information about CIARD will be created with special remark to the objectives of CIARD on making agricultural research information publicly available and accessible.

A new page with information resources like 1.) Open Access in agricultural research information domain including existing OA repositories available in the CIARD Ring (it could be a link or also a RSS feeds with last new OA repositories included in the registry), and also a link to the survey on open access conducted in 2010; 2.) links to e-learning material available in IMARK and other resources like the Royal Tropical Institute ( KIT) toolkit; and 3.) links to resources on good practices and use cases, e.g. CIARD pathways.
Networks
A new page with information about VOA3R, AGRIS, OceanDocs, and other networks at national level working towards OA like AGRORED, GAINS or ZAR4DIN. A link to the AGRIS Network group should be provided in this section.
Vocabularies (or Terminologies? to be decided)
